Life or Something Like It

I really hate this time of the year where the semesters coming to an end and all the bloddy submissions and the tests have to be together in a small bandgap of 2 weeks. When I am typing this at 12:15 at night,my fingers are dancing involuntaryly over the keyboard and words are spilling out. Maybe its because I am so bloody tired after an entire day of hard bloddy labour. EVen a manual labourer has more peace than me cos when he goes home he has nothing left to do that day..on the other hand my hands are overflowing with graphs charts and tables all crying to be analyzed......a totaly shitty thursday......here is a sample day from my life

7:00: wake up after sleeping at 2 last night, groggy with bititng headache at the back of the skull...hurriedly had a bath and gorged down a jam sandwich and ran to get the bus on time...

8:20-8:40:standing at the blody busstop bus 963 is not coming...cursing under my breadth ..feeling so helpless ..if i am late for the tutorial at 9 some other people will get the chance to do the sum on the board and that means no marks for me..

9:05: got down from the bus and crossed the football field in 1 min , my personal best...went inside class to see the people alreayd doin sums...anyway requested prof to let me do the question from page 98 and he agrees..

10-11:30 hmmm boring photonics lecture where lecturer goes on and on about electron hole pairs and hole and electron density and population iversion(laser)

11:30-2 roaming from one computer center to another trying to find a computer with Pspice installed in it so that can do the simulations required.....search proves futile....only product is the table of content for the thesis

2-3 time taken to reach the science canteen...had lunch with nikki...claypot....was too tired to talk about anything...she was telling me about the verbal test...i was just famished and nodded along...

3-5: went to lab to do zeeman effect experiment....but then realized i have to put one nanowire substance for field emission..went to colloid lab and mounted the smaple...set the system to pump down....went back to lab...continued doing zeeman effect...the red lines of the cadmium source started giving me a headache....continued till 5 completed the energy and magnetic flux calibration curve...

5-6: went to meet lecturer and supervisor andrew wee ....had to go thru 2 seretaries till i finally met him...showed him the XRD and the XPS data...he seemed satisfied....helped me a lot by searching the XPS database and identifying the SiO2 and the V2O5 oxygen peaks for me...overall a satisfactory experience due to a helpful HOD

6: kaushic was calling me about the dsi thing that the guy wants to meet us and wants to fund us to make our 3d cam into reality...went and discussed with him over a can of green tea.....hmm apparently going to DSI tommorow at 5 to discuss the funding and the patent and copyright issue....

6:45-7:30: went back to colloid lab to check on the field emission...the pressure has fallen to a satisfactory 3E-6 torr and did the emission readings for a value of 0 V to 1100 V...very satisfactory smooth exponential curve..very happy about the results.....

8:30 reached home and had a bath...can t even sit porperly so bloody tired.....had dinner(biryani and mutton..some how the mutton seems less)...and then sat to do the pspice programming...at 9

9-1145: started programming in pspice and then installed the driver of the printer into my laptop so that i can print .....did all the assignments to be submitted tommorow...will do the hand calculations tommorow morning....have to miss quantum mechanics class.....will attend solid state devices cos he will give out the marks...

11:45: browsing thru ivle trying to find submission time and then listened for 5 mins to jason mraz's geek in the pink..then started typing this blog..will complete this and then go to sleep for another rough day ahead....

12:30 going to sleep...want to catch as much possible

5 pointers to help in your daily life

I have decided to come up with 5 survival tips to survive in the world of todays in situations like bad dates to a boring lecture.
Disclaimer: These tips maybe be ridiculous, crappy and sometimes utterly outrageous. It is upto your discretion to follow these tips or not.You can be lynched, sued or arrested if you actually folow these tips...please dont hold me responsible.

5 ways to survive an extremely boring lecture:

1.Stretch:Stretch like crazy,it gets rid of sleep and its a great time passer. On top of that it makes you flexible and nimble.
2.Get a Drink:If your instituition allows you to bring food and drink to your lecture...definitely go for a drink...and sip its slowly as the lecturer goes on and on...dont be surprised but as you sip slowly you will discover flavours which you havent ever discovered before.
3.Unleash your Creative talents:All of us bring notebooks to class....unleash your creativity ..if u can draw then drawanything u like from dogs to frogs to geishas, if u are a poet then write a poem....and youll see the lecture will finish in a jiffy...
4.Be Alert:One of the greatest methods to pass time in class and still learn something...look for mistakes in the lecturers presentation slides or notes and point them out during the lecture..guaranteed 10 mins wasted per mistake..dont overdo it or youll land with a C in the module.
5.Last Resort:If your attendance is not compulsary and the lecture dosent add much to ur intellectual growth why in God's Holy Name are you here....go do something useful...and if U are here and have nothing to do...fall asleep atleast youll get rid of your fatigue toxins...

Underworld Evolution

Underworld Evolution(2006)

My Rating:7.5/10

Why did I waste money to watch this movie? I donno..maybe it was Kate Beckinsale in super tight leather corset which looked like it has been sprayed on her..or maybe the movie about were wolves and vampires fighting each other sounded attractive.....anyway I was there at the theatre and the movie had great action and great special effects and a movie with vampires and werewolves is always my favourite.

There was some crappy storyline involved and some history and flashback involved but as I had never seen the first movie, I could not figure it out....anyway liked the heart stopping action which was very satisfactory. Everybody emerged from the hall with a big smile on their face...

I give it a 7.5 because I liked it although it didnt have any storyline watsoever...but kate beckinsale looked amazing as the vampire in a the tightest leather suit I have ever seen...apparently the movie trivia says they put her in the suit and vaccummed air outta it..amazing

Munich(2006)
My Rating:9/10

Hmm, wats the hype all about...as John Stewart said during the Oscars this is Steven Speilberg's second movie about Jews after Schindler's List. and probably we should wait for a triology....I really liked this movie, personally till now I had known nothing about the Munich Massacare...Eric Bana gives a stellar performance as a mossad agent with a pregnant wife who is assigned to assasinate the terrorists who were responsible for the massacare. I always liked Eric Bana for his role as Hector in Troy and he lived up to my expectations. Daniel Craig as another mossad agent is creditable but i doubt his performance as the next James Bond......Geoffrey Rush is very good as the mossad cheif and he supposed to be a good actor ..but I am seeing him after Pirates of the Carribean so its lovely to see he can act....
Wat I didnt like the movie was the explicit violence and nudity...which was real was not neccessary......the recap of the massacre during the sex scene of eric bana with his wife was over dramatic and disturbing...
overall I liked the movie cos it had a spy movie feel to it and the way they killed different terrorists using phone bombs, grenades and all was great..thats why the 9 outta 10
